Our Approach
Individuality
Our approach is development-oriented, which takes into account that children develop at their own pace and have their own individual needs. Our Teachers see each child as a unique individual, with different experiences, background and interests. Children within a group or between groups therefore do not all do the exact same activity; practitioners draw up individual learning plans based on observations of individual needs and interests, ask challenging questions and create an inviting learning environment. We set clear rules and boundaries within which the children feel safe to choose activities freely and explore their interests. Shared sustained thinking creates an organic ever-changing learning environment.
Development through play
Free play is an important part of our everyday life and crucial to the children’s holistic development. During this time, the children can develop freely and independently, choose their playmates and games autonomously, or withdraw if they wish. Children explore and test their capabilities while dealing with others, while engaging in self selected activities; another important aspect of their development is that they are encouraged to develop new strategies of their own and learn to adjust if they do not succeed straight away in an endeavour.
